What is a Schnatterrelle?
What is a Schnatterrelle?
My love for art and design began in childhood but truly became a professional pursuit when I attended HTL Spengergasse in Vienna. There, I specialized in Interior and Surface Design, graduating with my Matura in 2023.
I then continued my studies at our partner university in Derby, England. I had always dreamed of living abroad, so this opportunity was perfect. Joining directly in the third year of the Bachelor’s program, I graduated with a degree in Illustration in 2024.
Wanting to return to the three-dimensional side of design, I applied for a Master’s program and was fortunate to be accepted into Kingston University in London to study Product and Furniture Design. A dream come true that will conclude in September 2025 with my Master’s degree.
During my studies, I developed independent projects such as my Lilliantal. Through my Master’s project Krapferl, I also discovered a strong connection between my projects and the gastronomy, one I had long tried to deny. Growing up with our family’s own restaurant, I know all too well what goes on behind the scenes. Still, I have chosen to follow my heart and intuition.
In the near future, I plan to explore the world of food design and everything connected to it. My first step will be a professional pastry course at the renowned École Ducasse in France in February 2026. This will not only allow me to indulge my passion for sweets but also sharpen my skills in order to create unique culinary spaces in the future.
Originally my childhood nickname, now also my artist name and studio name: Schnatterrelle. It describes someone who speaks without pause, non-stop! That’s something Rebecca can do exceptionally well, especially quickly when the topic really interests her. Once she’s hooked, there’s no end to hear!
